To Warzone Or Not To Warzone?

Yours truly faking painting.

Note the beverage of the gods.

Mishima The Warzone Kickstarter is ending tonight and I'm wondering whether I should commit to it. This game has been resurrected so many times they should add some zombie troopers to it if it didn't already have them. The latest attempt looks relatively interesting, but quite frankly the KS deal isn't that hot despite the rather good success of the Kickstarter -- unless you're willing to fork out over 250 quid.

My history with Warzone is a bit spotty. I played a couple of games of first edition with proxy figures a long time ago but I never really got into it. Then I bought the second edition box set when that came out but never did anything with it. Then Target went bust and I bought a huge stock of Warzone figures from a clearance.

Rise of the Machines I even painted some of them for a one-off game using a very weird variant of The Sword And The Flame rules after which they were shelved and never saw another game (not that unusual in itself). Then I needed cash and among other things sold off my remaining unpainted Warzone metals. I probably would have sold off the plastic starter set stuff too, but no one was willing to pay any money for it...

And lately I've been buying selected figures again from Prince August, who somehow ended up with Target's remaining stock (maybe they did the casting for them, I don't know). If I took the time to paint them, I could field reasonable basic forces of Imperial and Bauhaus. There's also a squad of Mishima and a large but somewhat lopsided troop of Cybertronic and some zombie troopers.

Zombie troopers And now this new Kickstarter. Quite frankly, I don't really need to increase my stockpile of miniatures any more. I really don't. No, I don't!
