Hammer's Slammers
The Crucible: The latest in Slammers gaming.
Hammer's Slammers
The book is a joy to behold.
Slammers loot
My Slammers vehicle came in the mail!
Slammers loot
These are really nice. They must be the most perfect resin castings I've ever seen.
Hammer's Slammers
GZG 15mm Slammers primed. These are very nice figures, but I just hate cleaning 15mm figures. I nearly broke the ankles off one already.
Hammer's Slammers
Basic wash applied.
Hammer's Slammers
Priming the jeeps.
Hammer's Slammers
Basing... I'm still not really accustomed to doing multibases, it's about the slowest stage of doing 15mm figures.
Hammer's Slammers
Here's my infantry.
Hammer's Slammers
These are all GZG 15mm figures, they're pretty nice.
Hammer's Slammers
The obligatory overhead view.
Hammer's Slammers
I did not feel like switching back and forth with the skimmer bases so I included one skimmer on each base to indicate they are so equipped.
Hammer's Slammers
Initially I intended to have the same amount of figures on each base but then I remembered my episode with the VC and put one less on the buzzbomb bases. This left a couple of figures over to do command bases.
Hammer's Slammers
These turned out nicer than I thought they would.
Hammer's Slammers
Jeeps and weapon teams done.
Hammer's Slammers
I'm not quite sure if the Slammers ever used mounted weapons in the books. And if you look closely, these aren't even Slammers figures. They are close, but not really.
Hammer's Slammers
The infantry are from GZG while the jeeps are Old Crow.
Hammer's Slammers
The obligatory overhead view.
Hammer's Slammers
Mortar jeeps.
Hammer's Slammers
Transport jeeps with loads.
Hammer's Slammers
Tribarrel jeeps.
Hammer's Slammers
The vehicle id numbers came from a 1/300 Soviet decal sheet -- my Slammers decal sheets are not here yet.
Hammer's Slammers Tanks
Here they are in all their glory.
Hammer's Slammers Tanks
I've been testing different ISO settings for the camera. Might have worked better if I'd actually kept notes...
Hammer's Slammers Tanks
Yes, the decals have not arrived yet... but otherwise I'll call these done. Maybe next time I'll add some stowage.
Hammer's Slammers Tanks
The obligatory overhead shot.
Hammer's Slammers Tanks
I love the gleam of iridium in the sun...
Hammer's Slammers Tanks
That's a full troop of blowers, a troop of combat cars and a pair of hogs. Hog batteries really come in fours, but I wanted to save some money and they're really not supposed to be on the table anyway.
Hammer's Slammers Tanks
I think the command car is actually missing a tribarrel. I'll have to ask if I can buy some spares separately.
Hammer's Slammers Tanks
Combat cars lined up.
Hammer's Slammers Tanks
The mesh tops were easier than I thought. Let's see how they hold up.
Hammer's Slammers Tanks
The turrets are really flush fitting, they may end up scraping the deck paint.
Hammer's Slammers Tanks
Pair of hogs. Now all I need is a horde of 15mm monkey aliens...
Hammer's Slammers Tanks
Ok, these aren't exactly Slammers...
Hammer's Slammers Tanks
The obligatory overhead view.
Hammer's Slammers Tanks
Slammers don't actually use Calliopes, so I painted these in generic olive drab.
Hammer's Slammers Tanks
A couple of cargo cars.
Hammer's Slammers Tanks
The lineup is looking nice.
Hammer's Slammers Tanks
Oh no, the blowers don't fit even in the large tank tray.
Hammer's Slammers Tanks
Good thing I had some pluck foam lying around...
Project H2: Reinforcements
I decided to model a full arty detachment, so I bought and painted these babies.
Project H2: Reinforcements
The obligatory overhead view.
Project H2: Reinforcements
I actually got the decals. I should take the time to decal up everything.
Project H2: Reinforcements
The command car is growing on me. I should get a few more and paint them up as ambulances or something.
Project H2: Showing Colours
I attached the decals. I should actually order more...
Radar Station
Here's a few field mounts with radar dishes.
Radar Station
The obligatory overhead view.
Radar Station
I painted these using the same camo scheme as the tanks and the trucks so I can exchange the turrets between them.
Radar Station
I need to get some more bases and missile turrets for a proper SAM site, though...
Radar Station
Another view of the radar installations.
Trucks
Here's some trucking power for the Prosperity rebels.
Trucks
The obligatory overhead view.
Trucks
I tried to give these the same camo scheme as the tanks, but for some reason the green turned out a bit different.
Trucks
I have three trucks and they are all slightly different.
Trucks
Hahaa! I mounted a magnet on the underbelly so I can put turrets on these too!
Project H2: Prosperity Rebels Tanks
Here's the light armored detachment.
Project H2: Prosperity Rebels Tanks
There's three platoons of five, each with one support tank.
Project H2: Prosperity Rebels Tanks
The support tank is the one with the slightly thicker and stubbier barrel.
Project H2: Prosperity Rebels Tanks
The obligatory overhead view.
Project H2: Prosperity Rebels Tanks
I chose to use generic red stars as symbols. All the hulls are numbered but the turrets are unmarked so they can be switched around.
Project H2: Prosperity Rebels Tanks
I need to get more transfers for the next batch.
Project H2: Prosperity Rebels Tanks
The camo is done with an airbrush using blu-tac as stencil. It worked pretty well.
Project H2: Prosperity Rebels Tanks
Some of the barrels really wanted to be installed in a high angle position...
Project H2: Prosperity Rebels Tanks
Some rear details.
Project H2: Prosperity Rebels Tanks
Another view of the tanks. I think this is getting on the high side of what you can stick on a normal table without starting to look stupid.
Project H2: Broglie's Tank Destroyers
Ok, here's some tank destroyers for Broglie's Legion.
Project H2: Broglie's Tank Destroyers
The obligatory overhead view.
Project H2: Broglie's Tank Destroyers
I tried doing digicamo with my new stencils. All told, it was a fair success though the paint is too thick in some places.
Project H2: Broglie's Tank Destroyers
Yes, they come with tribarrels. No, I'm not going to do the early versions separately.
Project H2: Broglie's Tank Destroyers
I still need to add a few support vehicles to round it out.
Project H2: Broglie's Tank Destroyers
Not quite sure what the rear grille is supposed to be besides prime targeting point.
SciFi troopers
Here's a platoon of troopers.
SciFi troopers
The obligatory overhead view.
SciFi troopers
I think these are very old Ral Partha figures.
SciFi troopers
The support section with four heavy guns... whatever they might be.
SciFi troopers
The infantry slog on.
SciFi troopers
There are pretty limited poses, but just enough to not appear all marching in goose step.
SciFi troopers
The color scheme is completely off the top of my head. I wanted to see how the light brown uniform would look.
SciFi troopers
The basing is done using Vallejo paste. It takes a long time to dry, but it's precolored so one painting step can be omitted.
SciFi troopers
I guess these guys will be facing the Slammers at some point.
SciFi troopers
Another platoon of generic scifi troopers.
SciFi troopers
The obligatory overhead view.
SciFi troopers
I've no idea which figures these are, but I'd guess GZG, maybe...
SciFi troopers
They're in kinda German WWII colors, the uniform is German field gray and the helmets are German dark camo. The webbing and vests are tan earth to give some contrast, though.
SciFi troopers
Buzzbomb bases. There isn't a great variety of poses.
SciFi troopers
Rifle bases. These guys didn't come with heavy weapons -- or I may have bagged the heavy weapons separately.
SciFi troopers
Pretty clean and nice figures.
SciFi troopers
Oh yes, I couldn't find my dunkelgelb so the buzzbomb tubes are in green gray.
SciFi troopers
The thin greenish line...
Brutish Aliens
Here's some brutish aliens. Slammerverse isn't exactly brimming with alien combatants, but I lumped these there anyway as they are 15mm figures and I don't really have any other 15mm scifi stuff.
Brutish Aliens
The obligatory overhead view.
Brutish Aliens
The nastiest of the bunch get to lead the rest.
Brutish Aliens
Regular brute aliens.
Brutish Aliens
Again, I have no idea where these guys came from.
Brutish Aliens
They're actually pretty nice. Being substantially larger than 15mm humans they also have a lot more detail.
SciFi troopers
Some vehicle crewmen were included. I'll these as is until I can find a vehicle to mount them on.
SciFi troopers
Here's the latest platoon of generic scifi troopers.
SciFi troopers
The obligatory overhead view.
SciFi troopers
Again, I have no real idea what these figures are.
SciFi troopers
Some missile launchers included.
SciFi troopers
Rifle teams.
SciFi troopers
For some reason these figures made me think about Stainless Steel Rat.
SciFi troopers
I basecoated these with the airbrush. I'm not quite convinced if it actually was faster, but at least there were no major problems.
SciFi troopers
It's a pretty simple theme. These guys will be part of the generic green army.
SciFi troopers
Placement of the flowers is completely coincidental.
SciFi troopers
And then to the next challenge.
SciFi troopers
Another batch of troopers for the green army.
SciFi troopers
The obligatory overhead view.
SciFi troopers
I think these are GZG figures.
SciFi troopers
A couple of command bases just in case.
SciFi troopers
Loads of heavy weapons. I might need to get more basic riflemen to even things out.
SciFi troopers
This lot is tooled up to the gills.
SciFi troopers
The paint scheme is pretty basic light olive clothes with olive drab helmet and shoulder pads.
SciFi troopers
I tried the bushes without extra glue this time. Let's see if there are any problems.
SciFi troopers
The basic riflemen are in the minority here.
Buggy Aliens
Here they are the buggy aliens.
Buggy Aliens
The obligatory overhead view.
Buggy Aliens
Democratic leadership among the bugsies.
Buggy Aliens
A few support weapon teams.
Buggy Aliens
Buggy rifle teams. These are most likely GZG Kra'Vak models.
Buggy Aliens
The thin red line.
Buggy Aliens
Some of the pose variations are really minor.
Buggy Aliens
Hey, that's cheating! You got an extra guy down there!
Snout Aliens
The humble platoon of the snout aliens is done.
Snout Aliens
The obligatory overhead view.
Snout Aliens
I had to switch basing scheme because I ran out of the stuff I used previously.
Snout Aliens
I think these are pretty cute. No idea who made them, though.
Snout Aliens
The leadership.
Snout Aliens
No real heavy weapons with these so I built them all as rifle bases.
Snout Aliens
For some reason I was getting this very British vibe from these.
Snout Aliens
Probably serving as mercenaries somewhere? Or is there an entire empire of these guys?
Security Detail
Here are the boys in blue.
Security Detail
The obligatory overhead view.
Security Detail
Leading elements.
Security Detail
There's a dearth of poses...
Security Detail
Ofcourse the only female figure is in a tank top.
Security Detail
SWAT boys advance.
Security Detail
They will sure keep things secure.
Security Detail
There's even a medic!
Security Detail
Criminal elements beware!
Jungle Fighters
Ready to brave any death world jungle they come across.
Jungle Fighters
The obligatory overhead view.
Jungle Fighters
Leaders lead the way.
Jungle Fighters
For reason I got a strong Vietnam vibe from these and decided to paint them as jungle fighters.
Jungle Fighters
Buzzbomb sections.
Jungle Fighters
Rifle sections, complete with light support weapons.
Jungle Fighters
All we need is some bush.
Jungle Fighters
I stuck a great deal of static grass bushes on these bases.
Jungle Fighters
Maybe a few small trees could also have been added...
Power Armor Troopers
Here's a set of power armor troopers.
Power Armor Troopers
The obligatory overhead view.
Power Armor Troopers
I think these are GZG figures again.
Power Armor Troopers
The leadership agrees on the vision.
Power Armor Troopers
The shoulder-mounted AT weapons convinced me that these must be powered suits of some sort.
Power Armor Troopers
I went through static grass bushes like crazy to get these done.
Power Armor Troopers
The rifle bases include support weapons.
Power Armor Troopers
The end result is surprisingly effective considering how simple the paint scheme really is.
Power Armor Troopers
Technically there are not power suits in Slammers, but it seems all my 15mm sci-fi stuff is getting lumped into one with them
Power Armor Troopers
Fearsome line of powered death.
Power Armor Troopers
Pose variation is a bit poor again.
Power Armor Troopers
Somehow I think these are NSL figures, but I really don't know.
Helmet Troopers
Troopers with the oddly familiar helmets advance.
Helmet Troopers
The obligatory overhead view.
Helmet Troopers
These seem oddly familiar, but I just can't place them.
Helmet Troopers
Proper command section included.
Helmet Troopers
I decided to put these support weapons on separate bases as well.
Helmet Troopers
I have no idea where these guys came from.
Helmet Troopers
There's a surprisingly good selection of kneeling poses for once.
Helmet Troopers
The helmet is so distinctive I thought it should be emphasized, hence the red colour.
Helmet Troopers
Bazooka teams and support weapons.
Helmet Troopers
Rifle bases. The split was better this way. I think these must be relatively new figures because the guns bear a striking resemblance to Vectors.
Helmet Troopers
There's even a loader with extra ammo for the rocket launcher.
Desert Warriors
Desert warriors arrayed for battle.
Desert Warriors
The obligatory overhead view.
Desert Warriors
These are GZG figures, I think.
Desert Warriors
I chose to mix the two styles instead of separating them.
Desert Warriors
The helmet style is a bit odd...
Desert Warriors
The line goes on and on.
Desert Warriors
At this rate, I'm going to run out of bushes soon.
Desert Warriors
Some buzzbombs for good measure.
Hammer's Slammers
Slammers reinforcements.
Hammer's Slammers
The obligatory overhead view.
Hammer's Slammers
Ok, now I have way too many Slammers. I wonder what I'm going to do with them...
Hammer's Slammers
I ran out of the decals and had to improvise a bit...
Hammer's Slammers
Combat cars.
Hammer's Slammers
Maybe I should add some flotsam and jetsam on top of these...
Hammer's Slammers
I kinda like the command car variant.
Hammer's Slammers
The ammo haulers are done in olive green because I gather they are not armored vehicles.
Hammer's Slammers
I put bases under them so they can actually be picked up...
Hammer's Slammers
I need to paint more infantry to go with them.
Sincanmo guntrucks
Guntrucks for the Sincanmo Federation.
Sincanmo guntrucks
The obligatory overhead view.
Sincanmo guntrucks
I added the weapons myself. They come from a variety of sources.
Sincanmo guntrucks
There's three different base models with a variety of weapon options.
Sincanmo guntrucks
The missile launcher is from GZG I believe.
Sincanmo guntrucks
Tribarrels may looks small but they are nasty. Basically a 50cal on steroids.
Sincanmo guntrucks
I'm not quite sure where that turret came from.
Zaporoskiye Brigade
These are for Zaporoskiye Brigade, but the color scheme is intentionally compatible with the Prosperity rebels.
Zaporoskiye Brigade
The obligatory overhead view.
Zaporoskiye Brigade
Heavy tanks galore.
Zaporoskiye Brigade
Light scouting elements.
Zaporoskiye Brigade
Assault guns/tank destroyers.
Zaporoskiye Brigade
These are not exactly on the list, but I painted them nonetheless.
Zaporoskiye Brigade
I was missing two missiles for some reason, so I put this one together from spare parts.
Zaporoskiye Brigade
Gatling support tanks.
Zaporoskiye Brigade
AA defense. Again, not strictly on the list but fits the theme.
Zaporoskiye Brigade
Another view of the tank destroyers.
Zaporoskiye Brigade
It's a big mass of armor.
Zaporoskiye Brigade
Two more light element. I magnetized those turret too, though they are so small it's not really worth the bother.
Zaporoskiye Brigade
More vehicles for Zaporoskiye Brigade and Broglie's Legion.
Zaporoskiye Brigade
The obligatory overhead view.
Zaporoskiye Brigade
Support vehicles for Broglie's Legion.
Zaporoskiye Brigade
The digicamo is done using Anarchy Models' strencils, they are really great!
Zaporoskiye Brigade
A couple of spare turrets and light scout vehicles.
Zaporoskiye Brigade
This is the real turreted version, the others I converted.
Zaporoskiye Brigade
APCs.
Zaporoskiye Brigade
I'm running out of Russian decals. Gotta get some more.
Zaporoskiye Brigade
This is not really related, but I wanted it off my desk.
Zaporoskiye Brigade
Not the best possible turrets, but I'm running out of spares.
Zaporoskiye Brigade
A little heavier missile box.
Future Tanks
Replacement tanks and cargo vehicles.
Future Tanks
The obligatory overhead view.
Future Tanks
These came with driver figures.
Future Tanks
Ofcourse, I didn't bother to check the previous set so the camo is slightly different...
Future Tanks
I quite like this desert hex camo.
Future Tanks
The obligatory overhead view.
Future Tanks
Raided old 40K transfer sheet for insignia.
Future Tanks
Hover APC.
Future Tanks
Command truck.
Future Tanks
More light vehicles.
Future Tanks
Tank destroyers and support.
Future Tanks
These are some force from Hammer's Slammers but I forgot which one.
Future Tanks
The obligatory overhead view.
Future Tanks
There's a variety of turrets, all magnetized.
Future Tanks
Support options.
Future Tanks
Some medium tanks as well.
Future Tanks
Spare turrets.
Future Tanks
The obligatory overhead view.
Future Tanks
I quite like the hover versions.
Future Tanks
More tanks!
