Gunfighter
These are the old Foundry western range.
Gunfighter
These shots are also the first test of my new Nikon Coolpix 2000. My previous brushes with digicams have been disappointing, but this one blew me away.
Gunfighter
Ha! Crossdraw holster!
Gunfighter
Two gun action.
Gunfighter
Red jacket, green vest... any relation?
Gunfighter
This guy looks like a show-off, so I painted his gun silver. My daughter insisted on putting the rock on the base.
Gunfighter
Looks pretty much like the other guy with moustache... well, they were all inbreeding anyway.
Gunfighter
Some time after painting this guy, I realized the clothes are actually cavalry uniform or something like that. Oh, wel....
Gunfighter
I named him "The Finn" for some reason.
Gunfighter
I should have taken a photo of the other side, because I a little trick with the hat.
Gunfighter
I call him Mr. Beans. Note the moustache again. Do these guys all have the same barber? Oh, wait, there is just one barber.
Gunfighter
Note how clean he licks his plates. Those beans sure are mighty tasty!
Gunfighter
Macro focus depth is very shallow. The downside of automatics is that sometimes they don't do what you meant, like this one focusing on the revolver.
Gunfighter
Ok, this is better. Note the sickly yellow skin color. These were the first figures I did after a long hiatus, and some things like shading flesh color took some time to relearn.
Gunfighter
Would you like buckshot with that, sir?
Gunfighter
Pinkerton man. I actually resisted the urge to paint these in Technicolor pink. Unfortunately, the black wasn't so good either. Black is surprisingly hard to do well.
Gunfighter
Another Pinkerton man. Should have given him a colorful vest for contrast.
Gunfighter
Mounted indians from Geronimo's band.
Gunfighter
Keeping the focus off the horse's head took some work.
Gunfighter
From this angle, he looks like a celtic fanatic on horseback.
Gunfighter's horse
See the horse's head.
Gunfighter's horse
It's a really nice horse, honest. The owner used it only for Sunday raids.
Gunfighter
Okay, here's the rider too.
Gunfighter
Again, a more colorful vest would have been nicer.
Gunfighter
Black hat, white duster... is he good or bad? Argh! Can't tell!
Gunfighter
The red shirt is pure coincidence, honest.
Gunfighter zombie
He's seen better days.
Gunfighter zombie
These are actually Foundry figures. They did one pack of these around the time Deadlands debuted.
Gunfighter zombie
Funny, I was better at shading rotten flesh than healthy.
Gunfighter zombie
More undead menace straight from boot hill.
Gunfighter zombie
I tried to do all of these in earthy tones, as if they'd been buried for some time and got dirt and mud all over their clothes while clawing to get back above the ground.
Gunfighter zombie
I like these poses, they're rather zombie-like.
Gunfighter zombie
Is he angry because someonle stole his boots?
Njetponimai City
Vulture View(tm) of Njetponimai City.
Njetponimai City
View down the main street. The ground looks a bit boring, haven't had the time to ruin the sheet yet.
Njetponimai City
North City view. The building at the end of the main street is from Miniature World Makers and it's actually latex. Very nice, but slightly too small for 28mm figures.
Njetponimai City
I bought a bunch of these ArmorCast boxes when a local gamestore was dumping them.
Njetponimai City
View down the Main Street.
Njetponimai City
Some additional realism.
Njetponimai City
The wooden buildings were considerably more work than the adobe buildings... small wonder I've got only four of them to the ten adobe ones.
Njetponimai City
South City.
Njetponimai City
The Diamond gang sets out.
Njetponimai City
The Club gang creeping about.
Njetponimai City
Ok, we're set. Come and get it!
Njetponimai City
Mr. Red from the Diamond gang camps in the yard.
Njetponimai City
Mr. Black and Doc Gray.
Njetponimai City
The Kid covers the corner while Bob Jones just cowers.
Njetponimai City
John Dough dashes across the street.
Njetponimai City
The Kid and Bob Jones. Bob decides to creep up towards Mr. Red's position. Bad call, as it turns out.
Njetponimai City
Doc Gray joins Mr. Red.
Njetponimai City
John Dough getting into position.
Njetponimai City
Ouch! Mr. White flanks The Kid.
Njetponimai City
The Kid backs up Bob.
Njetponimai City
John pops Mr. Black one in the belly.
Njetponimai City
This is looking bad. Both The Kid and Bob are down, looks like Frank Ernest has to handle this side on his own, one against three.
Njetponimai City
Did I say three-on-one? I meant four-on-one ofcourse. Frank is bravely holding the fort against Doc Gray and Wyatt Burpe.
Njetponimai City
Mr. Red joins Mr. Black smoking out Joe Smith, who was broken his gun (pink marker).
Njetponimai City
The end. Our brave fellows are downed by the scurrilous corpse-looting Doc Gray. The first actual casualty in the game too.
Njetponimaj City II
On the count to three...
Njetponimaj City II
Oopsie, out of ammo.
Njetponimaj City II
Everyone's hiding behind the houses. Where's the glorious charge along the main street?
Njetponimaj City II
Didn't we already see the obligatory overhead view?
Njetponimaj City II
Back alley action.
Njetponimaj City II
Desperadoes corner a cowpoke.
Njetponimaj City II
You ain't getting my bottle!

Njetponimaj City II
The dead box.
Njetponimaj City II
The city sleeps quietly, un aware of the troubles ahead.
Njetponimaj City II
The ground is made from old curtains.
Njetponimaj City II
The cowboys advance.
Njetponimaj City II
High noon at the main street.
Njetponimaj City II
Combatants use the barrels and crates lying about as cover.

Desperadoes hiding behind the outhouse.
Da posse
Here's the gang.
Apaches
Here's my new batch of Apache warriors. Mr. G is not in there, he's coming a bit later.
Apaches
The obligatory overhead view.
Apaches
These are all Foundry models.
Apaches
Full 24 models with no duplicates. Gotta love these proper metal ranges. There's actually even more in the range, even though it is one of the smaller ones.
Apaches
I decided to put in a few dashes of color after all.
Apaches
The basing is Vallejo paste, dried tea (Earl Grey) and used corn media. I was actually thinking about doing these with coffee, but I picked the wrong jar by accident and just went with it.
Apaches
Hmmm... maybe the feather are supposed to have black tips?
Apaches
There are a few traditional weapons mixed in, though as a whole the Apaches are pretty well armed.
Apaches
More warriors join the fray.
Apaches
There are actually pretty few colors used in this lot.
Apaches
Closeup on the warriors.
Apaches
There's even a guy with a spear.
Apaches
Yeah, I could do better with the patterning...
Apaches
I'm not quite sure the ochre was the right choice. It's pretty darn yellow in the end...
Apaches
Someone has been to Mexico...
Apaches
Deadeye gets ready to split the arrows with a... bullet?
Apaches
Closeup on two warriors.
Grande Fiesta Mexicana
And here's a batch of Mexicans.
Grande Fiesta Mexicana
The obligatory overhead view.
Grande Fiesta Mexicana
I was doing this fast and loose, so I skipped doing any patterns on the ponchos.
Grande Fiesta Mexicana
Hmmm... cordage. I really don't like painting it.
Grande Fiesta Mexicana
More peasanty fellows.
Grande Fiesta Mexicana
The straw hats are pretty light.
Grande Fiesta Mexicana
These are all rather old Foundry figures, though I suspect some are actually older than others. There are noticeable style variations in them.
Grande Fiesta Mexicana
Firing line waiting for the Apache raid.
Mr. G and Company
It's Mr. G's merry band!
Mr. G and Company
The obligatory overhead view.
Mr. G and Company
These are all Foundry figures.
Mr. G and Company
Actually, I'm not sure if they sell this exact set anymore.
Mr. G and Company
These were pretty fun to paint.
Mr. G and Company
I did all these in full 3-color unlike the Mexicans.
Mr. G and Company
Not really sure what the club should look like. I presume it's wood.
Mr. G and Company
Hmmm... should have redone the eye on the Shin Kazama there.
Mr. G and Company
Kneeling section.
Mr. G and Company
Mr. G and some firewater.
Cavalry Rides In
Very old Foundry figures I duf up and painted.
Cavalry Rides In
The obligatory overhead view.
Cavalry Rides In
These are the old sweats, veteran cavalry troopers.
Cavalry Rides In
Ride on, ride on...
Cavalry Rides In
There was actually substantial leeway in the equipment.
Cavalry Rides In
I painted all the horses as bays partly because they really color-coded units and partly because I was just lazy.
Cavalry Rides In
Maybe I should have done a little bit more variations.
Cavalry Rides In
I have the dismounted versions of these coming up.
Cavalry Rides In
Riding off to the sunset.
Cavalry Rides In
Heroes of the 7th on foot.
Cavalry Rides In
The obligatory overhead view.

Old sweats from Foundry.
Cavalry Rides In
There was a suprising leeway for civilian dress even among the troopers.
Cavalry Rides In
Making the frontier safe again.
Cavalry Rides In
The firing poses are pretty good for a change.
Cavalry Rides In
Unfortunately I don't recall who sculpted these. Even Foundry site doesn't mention it...
Cavalry Rides In
Did something move over there?
Cavalry Rides In
These were pretty fun to paint.
Braves of the Plains
New braves!
Braves of the Plains
The obligatory overhead view.
Braves of the Plains
The footmen are actually very old Alternative Armies figures.
Braves of the Plains
The riders are Foundry.
Braves of the Plains
It's Mr. G! I have the foot version also, but I didn't dig it up to match colors. Whatever...
Braves of the Plains
I had to borrow one horse from the orcs because I had a horseless rider for some reason. Maybe a freebie sample?
Braves of the Plains
These are full of character. Unfortunately I feel I wasn't really doing them justice trying to clear them off my workbench.
Braves of the Plains
These guys are more traditional with no firearms.
Braves of the Plains
The fur hat could be more like raccoon or something. My head was really not in this.
Braves of the Plains
Onwards!
Townspeople
More townspeople.
Townspeople
The obligatory overhead view.
Townspeople
It's Paco... or Tuc the Cracker... or?
Townspeople
Because black is boring to paint.
Townspeople
The Stix brothers travel back in time.

Even an old sea dog.

Western Characters
Foundry sold these foot and mounted sets a while back.
Western Characters
The obligatory overhead view.
Western Characters
Somehow he seems like a sailor. I don't know if it's the cap or what.
Western Characters
This guy probably likes beaver a lot.
Western Characters
I was too lazy to look up references to paint more interesting horses.
Western Characters
Classic boomstick pose.
Stagecoach
The obligatory overhead view.
Stagecoach
Yeehaw! Riding off to sunset...

This is from Warbases.

Looks delicious.
Longhorn cattle
A couple of draught horses for the wagon.
Longhorn cattle
I tried to vary the patterns.

I didn't bother magnetizing this.

Rooster and Friends
Caramba!
Rooster and Friends
Ride on to the sunset.
Rooster and Friends
Chomp chomp!
