The Steam Tunnels
Here's a primed TAG SWAT trooper I threw in there to show scale.
Barrels
Here are the Renedra barrels that came with my Perry houses. I meant to paint the bands metallic but forgot. Oh well, they're wooden barrel bands then...
The Steam Tunnels
The second batch of tiles is ready.
The Steam Tunnels
Another sample setup.
The Steam Tunnels
I made one tile too many, as you can see.
The Steam Tunnels
The thing that makes this work is that you don't even try to model all the walls. This wouldn't work as part of a larger setup, but if the entire game is in the maze it doesn't matter.
The Steam Tunnels
I used discarded blister foams quite a bit for painting this. Worked pretty well to create the dirty stained look.
The Steam Tunnels
I glued random bits or cardboard to the wall to make them more interesting.
The Steam Tunnels
The British are engaging some pirates in the chaotic service tunnels below X-dishu docks.
The Steam Tunnels
Covering the approach.
Vietnamese Civilians
Here are some civilians I got from Peter Pig. They're actually nicer than my crappy paintjob suggests...
The Steam Tunnels
On my mark...
The Steam Tunnels
The opposition.
The Steam Tunnels
Yes, bring EVERYBODY!
The Steam Tunnels
They went thataway!
The Steam Tunnels
Guess who's coming to dinner?
The Steam Tunnels
The obligatory overhead view.
Pipe stack
I made this from random junk.
SWAT
Here are the new SWAT figures, plus some extras. These are all from TAG.
SWAT
Except the stretcher. It's from a toy set.
SWAT
The obligatory overhead view.
Vietnamese Civilians
The obligatory overhead view.
Hostages
These hostages are from TAG.
Hostages
I could use more, but TAG has only a single pack and no females.
The Operative
Snake, Snaaaake!
The Stretcher
This came with a police toy set.
SWAT
Here are my TAG SWAT guys. I gave them blue clothes to break the monotony of the black gear a bit.
SWAT
The gas mask guys.
SWAT
Heavily armed SWAT.
SWAT
Another SWAT group. These are actually identical to the gas mask guys except for the heads.
Vietnamese Civilians
I got two packs, male and female civilians and mixed them on the bases. There's 3 or 4 poses per pack.
Skirmishers
Wargames Factory Numidians. Despite the title, these figures can be used for pretty much all classsical period light troops around the med.
Skirmishers
Parts waiting for assembly.
Skirmishers
The sprues, one for bodies/arms, the other for weapons and heads.
Skirmishers
Using the GW scraping tool. It worked pretty well for the bodies, not so well for the smaller parts.
Skirmishers
By comparison, this my trusty old scraper: an old dull x-acto blade. Being dull, it doesn't accidentally cut into the mini (or my fingers) like a sharp blade would.
Skirmishers
I assembled the initial batch as poor javelineers with minimal equipment, because I happen to need some for my Greek army.
Stacks in the works
Following the success of the prototype, I'm making more of these.
Vietnamese Civilians
As you can see, it's getting hard to avoid repeated poses.
Vietnamese Civilians
The poses could be a bit more dynamic, IMHO.
The Steam Tunnels
Here's the very first batch of terrain tiles I made. I happened to have a big pile of unused 12cm x 6cm tiles and decided to find a use for them.
The Steam Tunnels
This is a small example setup I threw together for the photo shoot.
The Steam Tunnels
The idea is that you can slap the tiles down in almost any order and create some sort of mazelike environment.
The Steam Tunnels
The walls are made from foamboard and the flooring is plasticard but the rest of it is just bits of cardboard and recycled junk.
