Celtic cavalry
The first ten celts ride into the sunset. These are 28mm Foundry models by Mark Copplestone that he made for the Caesarean Roman range. Frankly, these are better sculpts than the old Perry range.

I bought this used model relatively cheap. While it's the Chaos version, I plan to rip all the spiky stuff off and convert it into a loyalist Razorback or maybe even old skool Whirlwind.

I originally intended to put some transfers on the shields, but my VVV transfers wouldn't fit on the new style shields...

The brown horses are all dipped while the riders are painted more conventionally.

I painted the riders separately, which was a good idea except that a few shield positions proved impossible to fir and I had to reglue them.

A relatively limited palette was used to speed painting. The downside is that there are quite a few pretty similar figures.

I tried to use a piece of wire in the rider's butt to link to the horse, but while it was good for holding the figure while painting, it was just unnecessary hassle glueing it down.
