TYW: The Plastic
You see a bit of white in the bases because the glue isn't quite dry yet.

TYW: The Plastic
I hadn't done any figures in this scale previously, so I tried a variety of techniques. All failing abysmally, ofcourse.

TYW: The Plastic
And here's the useless overhead view!

TYW: The Plastic
Skirmisher, front view. These were in the first batch I did, using my normal base-wash-drybrush method. Note the hat brim on the rightmost man -- I had trouble with paint peeling even after a layer of varnish.

TYW: The Plastic
Skirmishers, rear view.

TYW: The Plastic
Musketeers giving fyre, front view. I lopped off the musket rest on the middle guy (accidentally).

TYW: The Plastic
Musketeers, side view. You can see the fuzz on the barrels created by my ill-advised attempts to remove the flash.

TYW: The Plastic
Even though it's a bit out of focus, you will note that the leftmost guy is missing half of his sword. I lopped it off accidentally while carving out the undercuts.

TYW: The Plastic
Musketeers loading, front view. The ones with the gray coat are from my second batch, when I tried a base + drybrush technique. Not much better.

Musketeers loading, back view.

TYW: The Plastic
Musketeers giving fyre. Oh, I guess I forgot to mention that these are Revell 1/72 figures.

TYW: The Plastic
Musketeers, another view.

TYW: The Plastic
Musketeers, back view. I clocked a little over 30 minutes per figure doing these. Not that you'd notice it from the results...

TYW: The Plastic
Oi, watch where you poke that thing! These were a bit hard to fit on the base, should have selected the poses more carefully.

TYW: The Plastic
Musketeers loading, rear view. You can see some strands of glue clinging to the figures because they were based after painting. Normally I base before painting. That's not a major problem, they'll wear off eventually.

TYW: The Plastic
Pikemen, front view. The pikes are underlength, but they usually are. Full length pikes are unwieldy on the table anyway.

TYW: The Plastic
Pikemen's asses. These were from the third and final batch. I decided I needed more contrast and tried the Foundry/Dallimore method of painting in the highlights. Naturally, I suck at anything that requires actual artistic talent.

TYW: The Plastic
Another angle on some pikemen. There was much more variety in the musketeers, for whatever reason. I think there were only four distinct poses of pikemen.

TYW: The Plastic
And the asses again.

TYW: The Plastic
Second rank pikemen, front view. My only defence is that I did not use a brush smaller than size #1.

Second rankers, buttshot.

TYW: The Plastic
More pikemen to the fray.

TYW: The Plastic
And from behind...

TYW: The Plastic
The command section. The flag has the eagle on the other side only, there's just no way I could paint it on the other freehand.

Command section, rear view.

TYW: The Plastic
Ok, here's the flag. Good thing the design was molded as raised detail.

TYW: The Plastic
I have no idea what the drum etc. is supposed to be like. If it's not historical, I guess he stole it from a travelling circus or something. The officer got a blue coat and trousers to differentiate him from the brown/gray commoners.

TYW: The Plastic
Another buttshot. Why did I take this one?
