Ferach Recruitment
The character set from Lady Wintermore primed and waiting for paint.
2014-04-21
Africans recruiting
Gripping Beast Africans nearly finished.
2014-04-21
Bridge Factory
There was some minor damage on the kit from shipping.
2014-04-21
African Sailors Union
These are from Gripping Beast.
2014-04-21
African Sailors Union
The obligatory overhead view.
2014-04-21
African Sailors Union
They are nice figures, perhaps a tad small with delicate features.
2014-04-21
African Sailors Union
I like the poses, they give the figures nice character.
2014-04-21
African Sailors Union
This is my favorite in the bunch. Just look at that poise.
2014-04-21
African Sailors Union
This guy was breakage waiting to happen. I glued the other foot to ground to give it a little bit more support.
2014-04-21
African Sailors Union
There's even some older weapons mixed in.
2014-04-21
African Sailors Union
Quite many of them are actually barefoot.
2014-04-21
Terrain works
Walkways assembled. This is before adding the strips to hide the jigsaw joints.
2014-04-21
Terrain works
Bunker assembled. It doesn't have a door or a roof, the latter I'm planning to add.
2014-04-21
Bridge Factory
This is the basic kit assembled.
2014-04-21
Truck Factory
Some primed trucks. The American 2.5 ton truck is usable for quite long even after WWII. I'll probably need to get some more.
2014-04-21
Civilians geting ready
I converted some Wargames Factory survivors into civilians. I'm not really a big fan of these minis, but there's really not much choice in this field.
2014-04-21
Ferach Recruitment
Stsrting with the flesh. I decided to go full 3-color on these guys.
2014-04-21
More walkways
These were so good I ordered two more sets. Maybe I need a couple more sets...
2014-04-21
Bridge Factory
It's made from 2mm MDF and quite frankly some pieces are a bit fragile...
2014-04-21
Civilians geting ready
Getting more color on them.
2014-04-21
Ferach Recruitment
The cuirassiers getting more color. I decided to go with white trousers because I think they look better than buff ones.
2014-04-21
More walls
I made some more walls for my interior battles set.
2014-04-21
More walls
I also added a couple of stairpieces as a test. They look a bit funky, but on the other hand there's ample space for a figure on every step.
2014-04-21
Moto-Saw
This is the Dremel Moto-Saw, a miniature scroll saw and it's a fabulous piece of kit!
2014-04-21
Civilians
Ok, here's the latest batch of innocent bystanders.
2014-04-21
Civilians
The obligatory overhead view.
2014-04-21
Civilians
Argh! Look at that horrible seam line! I hate cleaning these fiddly small plastic parts!
2014-04-21
Civilians
The kid looks a bit weird.
2014-04-21
Civilians
Bubba here is pretty ok.
2014-04-21
Civilians
Party, party! Notice the matching slippers.
2014-04-21
Ferach Recruitment
Cuirassiers nearly done.
2014-04-21
Ferach Recruitment
Ok, it's just a question of finishing these hussars then...
2014-04-21
Riot Cops Sighted!
The latest reinforcements for DCPD forces. I think I need to buy a few more packs to produce a convincing police line.
2014-04-21
Tank Factory
After waiting a couple of months for my 3mm magnets to arrive, I found they were too small and fiddly after all... and then I drilled these for my trusty standbys, the 8mm magnets instead.
2014-04-21
Tank Factory
A pile of assembled tank hulls.
2014-04-21
Ferach On Foote
These are the elf figures from Lady Wintermore's Fangs.
2014-04-21
Ferach On Foote
There's six cuirassiers and two hussars... maybe, the Flintloque unit designations are not so clear all the time.
2014-04-21
Ferach On Foote
I've no clue what color the capes are supposed to be.
2014-04-21
Ferach On Foote
The obligatory overhead view.
2014-04-21
Ferach On Foote
These are the 8th Hussars colors, approximately.
2014-04-21
Ferach On Foote
This guy is also supposed to be a Hussar, I think. He's also supposed to be a colonel or something, maybe that's why his uniform doesn't look quite up to spec?
2014-04-21
Ferach On Foote
Cuirassier colonel. I had no idea what his uniform was supposed to look like so I improvised a bit.
2014-04-21
Ferach On Foote
Cuirassier trooper.
2014-04-21
Ferach On Foote
Another trooper, this time with a carbine he borrowed from somewhere.
2014-04-21
Ferach On Foote
Two more troopers. I have no idea about the beret, but blue looks nice with the hair I think.
2014-04-21
Ferach On Foote
And one more trooper to finish the set.
2014-04-21
Ferach On Foote
Another view of the troopers.
2014-04-21
Ferach On Foote
Ready to escape the Witchlands...
2014-04-21
Ferach On Foote
The two hussars.
2014-04-21
Ferach On Foote
Another view of the hussars. For some reason the other pelisse doesn't have the epaulette...
2014-04-21
Ferach On Foote
Pink turnbacks are actually historical. More contrasting piping would look better, IMHO, but blue was the issue of the day.
2014-04-21
Ferach On Foote
Cuirassier detachment ready for lunch or something.
2014-04-21
Ferach On Foote
Onwards! Let's get back home!
2014-04-21
Tank Factory
Glueing the magnets on.
2014-04-21
Tank Factory
Prosperity rebels armoured unit assembled!
2014-04-21
Tank Factory
Hahaa! It's a magic trick!
2014-04-21
Tank Factory
Here are the rebel forces. I still need to scratch a couple of mortar assemblies for the trucks.
2014-04-21
Tank Factory
Getting primed.
2014-04-21
Tank Factory
Primed tank hulls.
2014-04-21
Bridge Factory
Filling in the joins. This is IMHO one of the biggest drawbacks of MDF construction. The jigsaw joints are really robust, but if you're doing something other than brickwork or maybe planks, you need to hide them somehow.
2014-04-21
Terrain works
Some tank traps from Puppets War. They are pretty nice pieces.
2014-04-21
Bridge Factory
Measuring the extra pieces.
2014-04-21
Bridge Factory
And cutting... no, I'm not an idiot. This is a staged shot, the saw is not on.
2014-04-21
Bridge Factory
Glueing the extra pieces on. MDF is really easy to glue to.
2014-04-21
Bridge Factory
A couple of clamps to hold stuff on.
2014-04-21
Bridge Factory
Working on the final few pieces.
2014-04-21
Bridge Factory
Not forgetting the underside.
2014-04-21
Bridge Factory
This side is done.
2014-04-21
Bridge Factory
Adding the top supports. These are actually pretty important, because there is high likelyhood someone will grab these to lift the whole thing up... I'll add corner irons later if this isn't sturdy enough.
2014-04-21
Bridge Factory
And doing the same on the other side. I cut two sets of parts in one go so this is just glueing them on.
2014-04-21
Bridge Factory
I decided to add some interior support too. Not really needed from strength, but it helps make the interior not so flat.
2014-04-21
Bridge Factory
View from the user perspective.
2014-04-21
Truck Factory
The undercarriage is pretty accurate, but it's also way too delicate for gaming use. I broke one of the axles already on assemble and had to replace the rear wheels with spares. I added hot glue to stiffen thigs up, but it warped the delicate plastic... should have gone with epoxy instead.
2014-04-21
Bridge Factory
Basic assembly done.
2014-04-21
Bridge Factory
That's a 15mm truck to show scale. This would be a major highway bridge in 15mm.
2014-04-21
Bridge Factory
A couple of 28mm figures to show scale. It's a big bridge even in 28mm... You can probably drive a tank over this.
2014-04-21
Icing Up!
I scrounged these from the trash.
2014-04-21
Bridge Factory
Priming done.
2014-04-21
Icing Up!
Now, what could we be having here?
2014-04-21
Bridge Factory
Basic gray color.
2014-04-21
Icing Up!
Surface layer drying.
