After pre-ordering the new Ogre boardgame, I decided to dig up my old
Ogre Miniatures figures. I've done a couple of Ogres in the past, but
all the tanks and and other stuff is still sitting in a box. I
actually cleaned and assembled quite a few of them long ago (including
doing the combine heavy tanks twice...) but never actually painted
them.
The Old Stuff
These are the old models I painted a long long time ago.

| A MkIII Ogre in Combine colors. The black scheme is a bit dull (and dusty!). I was trying for an eyeball effect here, but it really doesn't come through. |
This an Ogre MkV. I was going through my tiger stripe phase when I painted this one. |
Another view of the Fencer. Note how bad the decals are. |
| These are the old Ral Partha models. There's an error here: The MkV has only 12 AP batteries, therefore there are 4 extra ones in the back. |
Side view of MkIII Ogre. |
I think the MkV is better than the black MkIII, but it is a bit monotonous. Perhaps the eyeball thing would have worked better with the two main batteries. |
| Fencer was sort of poor man's Ogre, if I recall correctly. |
MkIII Ogre view from the top. |
Pan-European Fencer. I actually rather like the model. Too bad it was ruined by a batch of bad varnish I had... |
| MkV from the side. The join between front and rear hull is very weak for a very very heavy metal model. |
A Historical Game
In addition to being a very old game, these pictures
are some of the very first ones imported into the
photo database.
| The ogres on the prowl. |
The final stages of a long-lost battle of Ogre miniatures. |
Somene tries a bit of flanking. The hill in the picture is the very first one I ever made. I didn't think of painting a base color first, and it shows... |
| Wider picture of the last stages. |
Yet another Ogre shot. |
Ogre game in progress. |
| More ogrish action. |
Action in the sidelines. |
More Ogre. |
| It likes tiger stripes. You want to make something of it? |
